BTW, I notice sections 3 and 4 have vehicle restrictions on top of normal force organization and points.
Is it to be assumed that vehicles are not allowed at all in sections 1 and 2? Because I definitely wanted to run some transports in my low point army list.

I will be at the store around 12:30p and anticipate having the first matches sometime around 1:30p. As for your question abut vehicles: Tanks, dreadnoughts, and other vehicles are generally not permitted in Escalation formats in the early sections as they are unbalancing. While some armies, like Dark Eldar and Space Marines, could fit a cheap transport into the TO at 400 points, most other armies cannot, and some armies cannot even get a decent anti-armour option at 400 points. The idea is for everyone to have fun and learn the game on a balanced and small playing field Seriously, outside of this League you are unlikely to ever field a force of 400 points in a game. On another note: you only have to wait two sections before minor vehicles come into play.

Hello,
I recently moved to the area and have been looking at a few of the hobby shops in the area. I was wondering is this Escalation League open to everyone or is there some kind of registration process? I started playing 40k about 3 months ago (Space Wolves) and would be interested in joining. Also have you decided on a time for the 29th and will this Escalation be WYSIWYG or is there some proxy allowed? I ask because while I do have 2000+ points in models most of them are just painted legs and torso's =P
Thanks in advance, -Stu

Hi Stu,
No problem at all. In regards to WYSIWYG: most Escalations allow for a certain degree of flexibility and this is no different. Obviously when you are just starting you will want to experiment with a variety of different concepts and builds. Proxying similar models or simply saying "These missile launchers are really Melta Guns" is fine, so long as you: 1) Discuss it with your opponent before the game. 2) Clearly Identify the units. 3) Remain consistent.
Hope this helps!
Looking forward to seeing you with your Space Wolves on the 29th!

Hey Cavalier thanks for the response.
I do my best to keep it clear and no matter what I always have my proxies written down for each game. On the 29th do you think all the first round games will start at 1:30? I only ask because I am not 100% sure I can make it that early, might be an hour or two late.
Thanks again, -Stu

Hi Stu, I expect Games to be running throughout the day, so I anticipate your not needing to wait too long if there is nobody freed up. The reality is a 400 point game usually runs about 75 minutes to 90 minutes, even with teaching time I will probably be there early to set up terrain and such, and will likely also be the last to leave. Keep well and I will see you there!

I will be at the store around 12:30p to start setting up terrain and such, and I look forward to a great day of getting beaten up by everyone because I have fragile Dark Eldar with no Transports

I wish I coudl have made it, but trees were down all around the area. Hell, the tree by my driveway fell and blocked me in! the town came JUST NOW (5:30pm) to chop it up... AND THEY LEFT IT THERE! I just moved what I could so I can drive outta the driveway tomorrow.

Sorry I couldn't make it either due to the weather and leaving our appointment an hour later than we had planned...

No worries guys, there are still opportunities for mayhem:) There are Force Sheets at the store, and I will be in on Friday and likely Saturday for additional matches. Remember that each Section will need three battles for each commander, so there is always time before section 2 begins in two weeks. Feel free to stop in and grab a sheet, check in here to see what players are available and make your mark as you can

Well I can't believe the weekend I had. Making it to the tournament proved to be write detrimental for me considering I had to head back to west milford, which got 19 inches of snow. My car got stuck and had to abandon it. Fortunately I have everything back and next time it snows, I probably won't make it, hehe.
Todd, I've already got 2 games down, and expect to get in my third on Tuesday. What are the rules regarding extra games? Can they count for other people and not me? If so, I'd love to play others.

Yikes! I thought it was going to be bad later due to weather heresy, but that is really bad! I am so sorry, but happy to hear that everything worked out in the end. As for extra games: Extra games can always count towards your opponents' tallies, and you can replace any one score with an extra game (this gives folks an incentive to play lots of games, of course).

Sweet! That being the case, I'm almost always down for a game. I don't work very far from the store, so if anyone wants to get a game in on a weekday, I can meet at 6pm as long as I have at least two days notice. Weekends aren't as easy for me, but I might be able to make it after lunch, but I'll need as much notice as possible. And I play space marines.

I will be around both Friday night (like yourself I work until 5:30p) and Saturday (likely 12:30p to ~5p). Anyone who is up for a game, feel free
