According to both Army Builder and my hand addition (I always double check), yes. Low model count with lots of wargear I will be at an advantage in KP missions, and a disadvantage in everything else. We're Tau, it's how we roll, lol.

Just making sure. Damn, I haven;t even thought of a list yet! LoL! I'll figure it out. I promise looking at your list beforehand will not alter mine, since I may have only about 2K painted!

No worries, I won't mind if you tailor it to table me, lol. I generally play Tau as an exercise in tactical disciplines, so losing is expected My hero was always Ferdinand Foche, and to my mind, practice matches like this are really meant to be lost in order to teach the importance of the three P's (Preservation, Perseverance, and Pressure) in tactical doctrine.

I used to play my Orks for the same reason before they got their new book a few years back. But tabling someone is no fun for either side. Games are meant to be fun for all involved, till ya awaken the Elder Gods...

If you need anything to flesh out the list, I have two separate sets of Space Marines handy (including two Land Raiders and a brace of Dreadnoughts).

I was going through my list last night and noticed that I had listed a couple of things incorrectly: HQ - Fine Troops: Fire Warriors: Forgot to list Photon Grenades in both Squads Kroot: No Krootox, Kroot Hounds should be 12
Elite: Stealth Suits: Should be 1 more Fusion Blaster in the Squad
Heavy: Both Hammerheads should have Decoy Launchers, not Blacksun Filters

Cheats? Naaaah Seriously, I still maintain that the power is balanced against the newer Codexes. It is all but useless against Eldar and Dark Eldar, who generally have initiatives of 5, 6, and 7, and of limited utility against the majority of MEQ who have I4. Where it shines is against the low I horde armies (Orks, Orks, IG, Orks, and Orks), Monstrous creature armies (Tyranids), and supra-specialist gun armies (like Tau and Necrons). Game might have gone differently if I had been thinking properly, but I got silly did not move far enough to get the Stealthsuits away from Lord Fuzzy, lol. Also, the fact that my Hammerheads could not hit the broad side of a barn did not help either. Kroot proved exceptionally valuable, as did the Fire Warriors. The simple, 'OK, now 30 attacks from the Hounds at I5 and 65 attacks from the Kroot and Shaper at I3' was priceless. They stink on toast, but boy was that fun. It will be interesting to see how this list works against Guard, but I bet it loses just as handily. I loved how 1 Rune Priest and 1 Dreadnought murdered 40 Kroot as they ran away... sadness. The Fire Warrior Fusillade was fun, but ultimately too little, too late, and more than a bit wasteful. Not moving the Hammerheads ultimately cost me the game (also, I should have ignored the Vehicles and killed the Infantry). So, what did we learn today? 1) Need more, smaller Firewarrior Squads. Two large squads is not going to cut it. 2) Crisis Suits remain over-costed and less than optimal. 3) Stealth Suits need more oomph to be useful for their points (or I need more squads). 4) Ablative Gun Dronery... 5) Taking a couple of Drone Squads in the FA slot would be wise, if only to screen the FW squads with mobile cover and area denial. Might be worth looking into for future lists.
