I was inspired on YouTube the other day by a gentleman playing at Worlds in 2009 with a crazy White Weenie deck. It played 16 lands and his curve stopped at 2.
I thought, "this is right up my alley".
With several ways to make your little guys better, I thought I would give this build a shot. Here is what I'm looking at:
[Creatures] 30 4 Memnite 4 Ornithopter 3 Ardent Recruit 4 Glint Hawk 4 Kor Duelist 3 Kor Skyfisher 1 Leonin Relic Warder 3 Puresteel Paladin 4 Stoneforge Mystic
[Spells] 10 2 Mox Opal 4 Honor of the Pure 1 Sword of Body and Mind 1 Sword of Feast and Famine 1 Sword of War and Peace 1 Batterskull
[Lands] 20
4 Arid Mesa 4 Marsh Flats 4 Contested War Zone 8 Plains
The deck is pretty simple, with 8 cards giving +1/+1 to the entire field. Stoneforge Mystic may be the best card in standard right now and makes Batterskull downright scary.
With the 0 drop artifacts and all the equipment, getting metalcraft is fairly easy. This is where Puresteel Paladin really shines. Being able to move the swords or a Batterskull at will is ridiculous.
Kor Duelist is a nice touch...equipped with a sword he does dumb things, like deal double damage with the R/W sword or make you mill 20, make 2 wolves, etc.
Kor Skyfisher is very versatile, making you bounce lands so you can play them over again or bouncing mystics to search for more equipment.
I think I want to add a playset of Brave the Elements but what do I cut.

hello mr good sir, back in the day path to exile was the dominate card for a reason... the reason being IT WAS INSANE! Same principle applies here take out the honor the pures for dispatch. Also add in squadron hawks and take out the ardent recruits. Me and my buddy adam were lookin at this and we REALLY like to kor duelists.... especially when it had a sword on it. The hawks just give u better advantage to draw into the things you need and the extra damage from honor the pure is not as good as removing from the game or even tapping a blocker while beating face... its a great deck

Thanks Aaren. Did some play testing this weekend and made some pretty major changes. One thing I wanted was more consistent metal craft. Here's the updated deck list:
[Creatures] 28 4 Ornithopter 4 Memnite 4 Signal Pest 4 Puresteel Paladin 4 Glint Hawk 4 Squadron Hawk 4 Stoneforge Mystic
[Spells] 16 4 Dispatch 4 Flayer Husk 3 Chimeric Mass 3 Mox Opal 1 Sword...still testing which one is best...War and Peace, maybe? 1 Batterskull
[Lands] 16 4 Marsh Flats 2 Arid Mesa 2 Contested War Zone 8 Plains
What works? Chimeric Mass is a great add on. I really want turn 1 metal craft with Mox Opal and this guy gives me the option. Later in the game he provides another beater I can pump with Contested War Zone.
Turn 2 Batterskull? Sure...sign me up. I was actually lucky enough to crack one this weekend and its really great.
The Flayer Husks are cheap and can be stacked easily with a metal crafting Puresteel Paladin.
When testing the deck consistently achieved metal craft early, often turn 1. I think it has real potential to be a competitive deck in this format.
Still working on the sideboard, but I am considering splashing red for crush.

i disagree with crush. and i really wish there was a different zero drop than chimeric mass but i have to agree with it. I really like the deck. Maybe accorder's shield or the 0 drop equip from zendikar.it does the same thing except gives u reach for cawblade if it still exists. With puresteel its free +0/+2 and gives metal craft for opal...

Stephen (my nephew) and I considered Accorder's Shield and Spidersilk net. I like that they are equipment and therefore trigger Puresteel's card draw ability which is great in this deck.
Chimeric Mass is pretty versatile, though, and provides an extra creature if needed. He can even be bounced for Glint Hawk and played later game with a charge counter or two.
What is better? Glint Hawk or Kor Duelist? I like the 2/2 with the evasion ability, but the Duelist is a beast when equipped.
