It looks like Valakut and U/B Control are emerging as the top decks in the format. I think RDW is top tier as well.
So why not a deck that plays Blue, Black and Red? Hence, I give you my Grixis Control Deck (sans Tezzeret).

I like the Blue splash in the Puresteel deck. I think it still has a lot of potential. Vampires is also a good choice. I'm trying to narrow down what I will play on August 6th, but it will probably be vamps since I know that deck the best.
I should play Koth in Vampires just to screw with people's heads.

Did you also notice the vampire deck cut Pulse Tracker in favor of Vampire Hexmage? I think this change is the most innovative considering the current metagame. She shuts down aggro decks with her first strike ability and helps against control and planeswalkers. She can also remove counters from Pyromancer's Ascension and Bloodchief Ascension.
The removal package is really personal preference. I think Arc Trail is a good card as well in our current game.
The card that is being cut? Dark Tutelage. I guess with so much removal in our hands, the vampire-mage no longer needs the added card advantage.
Looking at the article Josh posted this week, I think Vampires is a Tempo-Aggro style deck. Gain the upper hand and remove the board, earning beats in the process.
