Hi again, Cavalier. My classes have ended and I can see you campaign is still going. I'd like to renew my interest, possibly with the Arbitrator I was thinking about before. That being said, classes I need only showing up on Thursday might interfere again. If that could mess up your plans, I don't mind stepping down. Please let me know. "All children welcome! Come into the Light!!!!" I will let you know how much XP to spend to get you up to near parity with the rest of the gang (obviously you will still lag behind the rest of the group, but operational parity is always useful).

Our escape from internment by the vile heretics of the Children of Vildix, though improvised and treacherous, might possibly have been better executed. While unfamiliar with the workings of the heretical Teleportarium device used by the Children of Vildix, Stig never-the-less managed to get us back to Pisae. Unfortunately, our arrival was at a place far removed from any of the local cities on the surface.
Forced to slog through blowing snow and ash, we did manage to locate a small base not far from our arrival point. This base, a converted Commonwealth facility had been used by House Wulfe at some point, as evidenced by the older symbols of that disgraceful batch of renegades and pirates. The facility had apparently been abandoned for some time, and fuel for the generator was in short supply: there would be only enough fuel to properly heat one room in the control tower or to provide power to the main systems, but no heat. We opted to quickly look in the systems, and use whatever power remained for heating one room in the hopes that the thick walls would retain the heat for as long as possible.
We did discover that at least one of the shuttles that was logged in to the system had not been listed as having taken off, however given the state of the rest of the facility it was possible that this might be an oversight. We determined to investigate the hangars in the hopes of scavenging more fuel and possibly getting our hands on that shuttle. Assuming, of course, that it was still functional.
Onan was injured by toxic gasses coming from the first hangar, indicating that there may be some volcanic activity in the area, and while we heard Pisarats in the second hangar, they did not trouble us. In the second hangar, we discovered a shuttle, though its systems were locked out, and some fuel canisters with enough fuel to last us the night.
During the night something disrupted the power, and while Stig and I inspected the generator, Cicero, Onan, Pasiel, and Cromwell fought off a minor daemon of some kind, sustaining great wounds in the process. We managed to last through the 30 hour night and in the morning, a series of jury rigged solutions allowed us to pilot the shuttle out of the base. I fully intend to have the Navy destroy that base from orbit the first chance I get, though it might be worthwhile having the Ordo Malleus perform a complete analysis to determine what exactly House Wulfe was up to that cause such a creature to appear.
Upon our arrival at Paka, the capital of Pisae, we were forced to land well outside the city. As per proper procedure, we were immediately surrounded by Adeptus Arbites Repressors and ordered to surrender. Amazingly, the creature ordering our surrender was some sort of horrible replica of ME!
I argued with my doppleganger while my erstwhile allies surrendered to the authority of the Empire's law enforcement, and soon I found myself and the false me surrendering as well. I presume we were all interrogated, and eventually we were brought before Marshal Trask and his tribunal, with twenty Arbitrators of the rank of Regulator standing in witness. Though I was bound and gagged, and my sole remaining Acolyte, Cicero Hendricks, was under the compulsion of a mind block, so it was up to my new found servants to ensure my release.
It was a near thing, but in the end, Pasiel and Onan managed to convince the Marshall of the fact that I was the real Inquisitor Segovia through the use of the code name Jaccobeus, which is how I often refer to Albrecht Zayz. The imposter had apparently been referring to Zayz by name, a fact that strikes me as odd since she seems to have all of the same memories and knowledge as I have.
While I went off to interrogate the strange creature masquerading as me, Onan, Pasiel, Cromwell, and Stig were escorted off to take the shuttle as salvage by one of the Regulators named Zachariah Kell. Apparently they managed to keep themselves busy, for approximately ten hours into my interrogation of the false Inquisitor, I received a servo-skull summons indicating that they wished to speak with me on a matter of the utmost importance.
I left Hendricks alone in the room with the creature that bears my likeness, and went to meet with my former allies from the Children of Vildix's prison. They spun a tale that was queer in its very nature. It appears that the Cargomagister of the Port of Paka had noticed a glaringly large number of errors in the shipping manifests. When he reported it to Adjudicator Jorges Ryandt, he was bluntly ignored and no investigation was performed. When he received no traction from Ryandt, he sought help from the local criminal syndicate as well as the Galfini Syndicate's local representatives, but neither was able or willing to assist him in his investigation (the fact that he knew how to contact such persons makes me wonder, though, as to how loyal a scion of the Administratum he truly was). Having failed on all fronts, he tried to get word to Pavius Terix, and help arrived, almost three years after his request.
This, by itself, seemed symptomatic of a larger problem, but the sudden death of Cargomagister Adron Blauvelt and several members of his staff in an incident quickly labelled as a freak accident by Adjudicator Ryandt has triggered my sense of danger to the fore...

Sadly, work must come first, and apparently 3/11 is the day that my bosses have chosen for a Pangaia Partners Employee Cocktail reception. As a member of the HR team here, it is incumbent upon me to attend, so sadly, there will be no game on Thursday.
On the other hand: I will be at the store with the slavering hordes of the SFSNNJ for King of Games Day III, so feel free to pop in and play gamez!
